Indian vastu shastra believe, existence is made of five elements.
fire, air, water, earth and sky. north west represent air it is not a stable element and master's sheet or rest positions must be in a stable corner that is south west, it represent earth. this is why vaastu do not recommand master at north-west.

The bedroom should be in the South East, as that is where the sun rises and life begins
