When you have millions of dollars, you can have other people raise the child. But, I do take my hat off for her, if she will be a "hands on" mother.

I think Madonna is ALL about the publicity. That's why she kissed Britney Spears and Christina Aguillera on stage, that's why she was going to appear on stage as Jesus crucified, that's why she dresses the way she does. Come on, there are battered, abused, neglected, and hungry children right here on American soil. Why adopt from another country, when you can make your own country better?

no i dont think she did it for publicity. after all she is madonna she could ave picked her nose in public to get publicity or had a row with her husband. i think she did it because she genuinely cares. and i also think that madonna is more of a hands on mum than alot of other celebs.
she can give that child the life that he never would have had before and just cos she is stinking rich doesnt mean she doesnt care.

You don't accept a human being into your home to raise and care for them into adulthood and beyond for publicity. The media always likes to try and find the bad in everyone. It's just silly. They didn't say all these things when Angie J. did it twice! If they want publicity, all they have to do is flash a nip like Janet did, or something of that nature.

She adopted the baby because it had needs that she could address. It affords her an opportunity to add contrast and dimension to her home, her education for her other child/ren, as well as, enriching her sense of humanitarianism. It is my understanding that she is somewhat strick by casual comparison. That her role as mother is distinctly different than her role as a performer; she limits television; and supervises what is viewed. So, perhaps the press has attempted to raise a controversy in her efforts. It is what they do for a living. Shame on them. If the laws were such, the father would probably appreciate being adopted, too. Maybe she could hire him to assist with one of her properties and protect him from the garrishness of those who badger those who have earned automatic recognition through their works.

I appreciate Ms. Winfrey giving her an opportunity to voice her position on the issue. Those who seek to exploit the news by sensationalism were probably not expecting that she would receive any air time outside of a courtroom. Hopefully, it will all be over with soon; and, the time that is wasted speaking on her, his, and their behalf in regard to the biological parent upset will be utilized [time] to address the needs of the child. It sounds as though it was so spontaneous that hardly any forethought to the differences that would be involved were considered beyond...we are strong -- we can make it work.

Maybe she would appreciate a Nobel Prize in Literature for her humanitarian effort instead of or in addition to a Grammy. A diary of her new child's life and experiences would be interesting to those interested in adoption abroad, as well as, those who have studied her work over the years.

The NCCJ Humanitarian Award is given for personal commitment to the promotion of respect and understanding among people of diverse racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. The National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ), founded in 1927 as The National Conference of Christians and Jews, is a human relations organization dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry, and racism in America. The NCCJ promotes understanding and respect among all races, religions, and cultures through advocacy, conflict resolution, and education. The first Virginia chapter of the NCCJ was founded in 1935.

hw many kids have she?

1. either she adopt as she is LONELY(highly impossible cause she has such a large crew cast)

2. or for the sake of having 1 more nanny=spending more money.

so it's either she is LONELY or wants to SPED MORE MONEY or like u say, for PUBLICITY or for the "HELP" in her marridge

Of course she did, why else would she fly to Malawi for? Either to support some charity or some publicity stunt.

sad to say i think she did. she was never one for genuine charity and this is out the blue. I doubt she even knew where Africa was as I think it was a publicity stunt.

cant be just that right?

to adopt a baby is quite a tedious process. and to take care of it too. needs alot of patience and TLC.

so i dont think so. people dont adopt a kid for the sake of adopting.
