I have Visa Electron right now, but it doesn't work. What's the problem? I used my card while I was in the western europe, but it doesn't work in the US internet, why?

It depends on the site you are trying to buy from, and their internet card processing company. Many will not accept credit card orders from Russia, Ukraine, or Romania due to the high incidents of credit card fraud coming from those countries.

I had to open a Visa account in the US for my wife to use her card in from Ukraine. I'd imagine a UK or other European bank card will work as well. Ukraine has Raffeisen Bank... if Russia has them, it is at least an Austrian based card (but no guarantees).

I think its a thing with Visa and MasterCard, that for the sake of security, they make it impossible for you to shop over the Internet with a Russian Card, thinking that your card details are more likely to be stolen in Russia I guess.

Most Canadian cards don't work in US & likewise without the mastercard/visa logo on it
