Hello!! :o) I believe that many people have short tempers because they allow their blood sugar levels to drop. And that happens whenever someone goes without food for 4 hours or more in a day. This also might explain why many people are cranky when they first wake up in the morning. The type of food that I would recommend for a 55 year old man [to eat throughout the day] is the same food I would recommend for anyone of any age. Good, healthy foods - such as fruits and vegetables and some protein [like eggs or chicken or fish] and a few grains - like whole wheat bread. A 'food' to be avoided can be summed up in one word basically. NO SUGAR!! Breakfast, lunch, dinner and a small snack a couple of hours before going to bed is a good idea. I would also recommend drinking plenty of water. [6 to 8 medium sized glasses a day] I hope that helps!! Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

I ask you, "does he get your goat? are you feeling like you've done something wrong? do you feel 'bad' afterwards?" If you do, then he's got you! Just let him vent. You just be present, nod your head from time to time, look at him with kind eyes, and when he's done venting, smile, and just leave the situation. People who have problem talking about what they need don't know how to do so, so, they throw a tantrum/temper. The next time you could do the same, but, frame your tantrum as a need to vent, not to be disrespectful. Then when you're done, just say, "ah, that feels good, thanks for listening", and then walk away.

Accept him as a short tempered person. This seems like a simple answer but it is the only way to deal with them. Accept him as a short tempered person and act acordingly.Choose your words carefully, keep your promises and you wont have much problem.
