My car is a Renault 19 II 1794cc manual (113hp). Does someone know what is the normal working oil temperature and oil pressure for my engine? Cheers

Well, my friend changed his engine from a 1783cc to a 1794cc, and he noticed that his oil temp rises from 78C to 90C in normal working condition, and oil pressure lost about 1 BAR from 3.8 to 2.8. Myself is a 1794cc, but I have not installed any meters in my car, so I can't be sure whether his readings are correct, or abnormal due to engine change...Thanks mates

Thank you very much for the info on oil pressure, heavywrench. As for oil temperature, I'm sorry, I may not have explained better. My friend has installed an independent oil meter, so that's how he got the readings.

if it is electronic gages and you don't switch the sensor when changing engines that could be the difference in pressure and temp. i think you are talking about water temp. and not oil temp i have not seen any factory cars come with oil temp. oil pressure normally runs 30psi and water temp 190deg.

Sorry I can't answer your question but had a 19 16v mark one with the 1794cc engine.

It was incredibly hot all the time and after even a short run the bonnet was too hot to keep your hand on (above the exhaust manifold).

So if you are worried that it seems too hot then its possibly quite normal.
