I guess rent is cheap here, depends on which neighbourhood you're in.
Yeah India would be another good option. I think its even more possible there.

India : definitely possible . But beware: since you are a foreigner(not indian),people will take you on a ride(rip you).
And you decide on India, i think you could get a job as a Call Centre Executive(Outsourcing), that will give you another USD 300 for a start.
But apart from India there are loads of other options aswell...just about any developing country -Thailand,Vietnam,Cambodia and even Philippines. You could also look at some CIS States (East Europe).How about Kazakastan (You could find out whether more about Borat!)

Instead of living somewhere in which you might not like.. Use the 300 a month rent on hotels.. Travel and stay in hotels. I personally think thats a better way of spending ur money.

Try India. Fastly developing Country, Its Cheap & Best. Moreover people are also helpful. There is a lot of places which are best for outing. You can find every kind of weather. Snow, Beach, Hot, Cold and Rain.
