some believe that there are and others are skeptics...you watch these TV shows like Most Haunted on whatever channel it is and the guy on there is talking to his dead friend who is telling him about the ghosts in the house..i think that show is a bunch of poop...but then you watch a show like ghost hunters, where they try to disprove ghosts and hauntings and show actual evidence and not pictures created by photoshop...yeah those guys could very well be making it up, but they sure are doing a good job at it if they are...
other times people believe that they see ghosts especially when they are resting at night...i had a few experiences like that a few times...i would see a ghost in my room and felt as if they were holding me down..i did extensive research and there is this thing called Sleep Paralysis...every encounter that you read about, the person says they seen a entity or alien and was unable to move or scream...i do believe in this phenomena because i have experienced it first hand and it is quite fightening

Truthfully, I say there is such things as ghosts. I have not a doubt in my mind. Have a cat? Ever see it stare down a hallway, maybe while ducking in a fashion similar to when it hunts rodents (posed like the Sphinx, except head closely above front paws)? It sees a ghost.
Believe what you want. Meanwhile, I'll continue to believe ghosts are real.

It's impossible to prove a negative, although from my experience i have seen absolutely no solid evidence of ghosts. All we have are people's testimony that they've seen a ghost, and if you investigate their claims then you find several problems:
1) It's just their assertion with no other evidence
2) They may be lying
3) They may be mistaken
Whether you believe or not is your personal preference, although I tend to believe that the vast majority of sightings are people THINKING they can see a ghost when in actual fact it's an optical illusion or something their own brain creates.

what i'm sure about is perception and experience. people could label such phenonmenon as presence of ghosts
