Why do celebs wants to adopt African kids, and NOT others?

There are needy kids in North America, Asia, South America, Europe all suffering the SAME problems as these in Africa, why DON'T the celebrates ADOPT these kids too?. Don't tell me the African kids are more unfortunate, kids are all the same and suffers the same problems WORLDWIDE.

I would say for publicity. Most celebs enjoy being in the spotlight for positive things, so the farther that they travel to adopt a poor, starving child, the more publicity they get and wouldn't be seen as a snobbish celeb with just millions of dollars.

Why does it matter to you? Isn't it a blessing that these children are being rescued from the extreme poverty that they've been living in. I'm happy that these children are getting a chance at a good life. They would probably be dead at a young age, otherwise.
