Hi there,
when trying to install the bearshare program this error message appears-The file c:\program files\bearshare\install log could not be opened.
This happens every time I try to install.
Could anyone out there help me with this matter and also tell me of other good file sharing programs except for limewire which I already have.

You should get, and run, http://frostwire.com as it is the basis for Limewire Pro, but, Frostwire is the Free, Open Source Software -
FOSS!
And, Frostwire contains ALL the tools, not the crippled version, like 'someone' wants to monitor what you see!?
Frostwire is running now on my http://pclinuxos.com systems, here. It is included for free. Great idea! that is a LiveCD and you can make a folder on the drive to save and share with... on the network, too!

if i were you i would stop using limewire and bearshre and similar programs all together. i have just had real bad luck with em. contaminated files and so on. bit torrents is the way to go. its easy here it is step by step
1go to bitlord.com download free version (it manages your bit torrent downloads)
2go to bit torrent sites and search for downloads, here is a list
torrentspy.com its really the best alot of comments on the files so you can make sure they are worth getting first. or btjunkie it has alot of the same files just with more seeders (uploaders) it also has a better music selection. also try mininova.org or thepiratebay.com or torrentbox.com
3find what you want and click download
4 a screen will pop up, select run
5 another screen will pop up, select the files you want (like if its a whole cd and you only want a couple songs just check them)
6click OK
its really easy i really don't know crap about computers and i got it \. have fun
