Dude, everyone's older now. Even my 17 month old son prefers Nickelodeon to Disney most days! Luckily my kids know that I have to approve of their cartoons before they are allowed to watch them. That means, "Danny Phantom", "The X's", "Avitar", "Kim Possible", "Dora", "Diego", "Winnie the Pooh", etc. Unfortunately, my oldest son (he's 6) has discovered "Mr. Meaty" . . . I agreed to compromise and let him watch "Spongebob". What is the world coming to?

Yes it's true. Cartoons are a staple amoung kids growing up in this country. When I was a kid, I would wake up in the morning and watch Hey Arnold, Tiny Toon Adventures, Darkwing Duck, DuckTales, Calvin and The Chipmunks. There went the springtime of my youth. After watching cartoons the neighborhood kids would all go out a nd play pretend to be our favorite cartoon hero. Children these days are definitely missing out..

I agree that this is a different time now for kids than when we were their age, BUT the older stuff is better, same with regular TV shows. Today it is mostly crap.
My son is 12 and he would prefer to watch Bugs Bunny and old shows like I Love Lucy.
I think if we went back to what it used to be, we wouldnt have a lot of the social problems we have today.

I think cartoon started going into the sewer back in the 1980's. I would rather watch cartoon from back when I was a kid and before that then what is on now.

What's up with all the weird new cartoons? Late at night there are these weird catoons that nobody really watches. Are people experimenting with new ways to animate or do people have no idea how to make a great cartoon? They should just let us make catoons for them.

Well i guess they just don make them like they'd used to... : (
Not to mention the effort they put in.
Well sad to say it but i think cartoons are slowly but surely phasing out of our lifes,i guess this is part of life, things come and go.
But good news is we can relive our childhood for a moment!
TMNT (teenage mutant ninja turtles) are out nxt year in cinemas! and boy have they lost weight.

I think kids are becoming more intelligent and less imaginative and are not as easily amused. I miss Saturday cartoons also.
