It's usually more than just showing tables of data, it's showing the data in a form that helps explain any of the following: time histories and indicated trends; why the data are the values they have; effects on other systems, objects, people; and probably you can think of other questions people might have about data. Accompanying explanatory talk may be part of a presentation. Graphical presentation is often a big help in getting these ideas across.

To whitewash is to gloss over or cover up vices, crimes or scandals or to exonerate by means of a perfunctory investigation or through biased presentation of data.[1] It is especially used in the context of corporations, governments or other organizations. In Historical Context it refers to the rewriting of History to glorify the actions of the white race above all else. If you live in America or Europe then your getting a white-washed version of history unlike you seek alternative information for yourself which most don't Well to be fair it's not just whites. The Japanese have a long history of Whitewashing events so they barely or never happened cough cough WW2 War crimes. Chinese as well and even many people of African blood go overboard with Afrocentrism. If you alter history for your own reasons it's white washing

I think Black and White people have a different meaning for the term. I was always told I was "Whitewashed" and its dumb. They meant it the same as someone saying you're "acting White", which is completely idiotic because I'm not acting any way. It kills me that people would expect some Black people (like me) or even White people, to grow up in a community either around Whites or Blacks, and STILL act stereotypical of either race! Whites in Black cities who like rap and wear the same clothes aren't "acting Black" because they grew up in the culture no different from the Black people there who like it, and Black people like me aren't "Whitewashed" or "acting White" when we grow up in that culture and absorb it just as much as the Whites did.
