My girlfriend's best friend is one of her exes. She says that he is like a brother to her. They go out to dinner together and sometimes watch movies at his house. Before we started dated, she would sleep on his couch sometimes if it got late and she didn't want to drive home. She cooked a dinner for both of us to introduce us. I know she wouldn't cheat on me, but I still get jealous when she spends time with him. I don't want to tell her to end her friendship. What is fair?

Another reason I don't think there's anything between them - she keeps trying to fix him up with her girlfriends and help him out with dating and stuff.

Take it from a jealous prick ; you do not want to tell her to stop seeing her male friends that will just drive her away from you! What you should do is let her know how you feel about the things she does with him and you know trust her [ but the green eyed monster inside you stronger than you are willing to admit ] tell her that and she may cut down on spending time him and more time you.

DUDE!!! I am a femme and have male friends that are like brothers to me, but she has taken things way too far with everything- doesn't sound too good for you right now- yes, tell her how it makes you feel when she acts like that and when she spends the night with them or goes to dinner- as for what is fair- if she doesn't curtail her actions then I would say find a sisterly friend or two for yourself

That is the question of the century. My ex used to say that he just had a lot of friends who were girls. He insisted that he just liked to talk to them. Daaaaaaaa.
He was messing around with many girls. He hurt me.
To be honest, I have not seen successes with this but that does not mean that she is untrue. I did have many boys who were just friends. Ya know, I think that I would have dated some of them if the time would have been right. Be careful.

Sit her down and explain how you feel. It sounds like you trust her which is a good thing in any relationship. Yes, she has a right to have her friends, but you also have the right to express to her things in this relationship that make you uncomfortable. Remember that any relationship is also a partnership, and both people must work together to make it work.

Do you actually believe this crap with her sleeping on the couch? Anyway, the answer is find yourself some female friends and start an open relationship. That is if you still want her.

this is not the question about who sleeps with who.< this is a question why she wastes her time on him, not on u. when i started dating my current husband i had zillions of male friends. with whom i had sex and with whom i didn't and never would. but each second spent with a man i love was precious to me. so i dropped ALL of my male and female friends to be just with him. not to waste my time on anything which is not important. so if she prefers spending her time with him it means he is still important for her, not u. gosh it gotta hurt. i know i wouldn't tolerate that in my partner. 100% of time and devotion - this is the right relationships

No. Sure it hurts that she is in colse contact with her ex, but denying her will only make her want to see him more. Trust me, my 2 yr relationship ended this way - It just shows lack of confidence and trust in them.

How would she feel if you did the same with your ex?
Personally, I wouldn't put up with it. I think she shows you much dishonour.
Have you heard of emotional infidelity?
