I think we are just trying to scare them. Send over a hideous woman to scare them out of the nuke business. GREAT PLAN.

We have little or no credibility anywhere. We look and behave like a frightened country and people. We’ve attacked to of the weakest counties in the world and we cannot control either. The two countries we were supposedly helping both hate us. Iraqis think it is OK to attack and kill our soldiers and many say that life is worse now that it was under Saddam.
We give up our rights and freedom that were the foundation of the US because of some old man with bad kidneys. We lose friends and respect while terrorists become more popular and more powerful. We are losing the war on terror.
Rice had no Middle East experience and as National Security Advisor she blew off the PDBM warning that OBL was planning an attack inside the US, that he might use airplanes, and the targets would be major symbols of American government (DC) and finances (New York).
As SOS she has continued her role as the administration’s designated liar, continuing to maintain outrageous positions even after Bush and Cheney have, more or less, come clean. She travels all over the world but never comes away with any accomplishments. North Korea and Iran punk us to our faces, and she and Bush get on TV and talk tough even though the whole world knows that we cannot and will not do anything.
She was in over her head from the start, just like her boss. There is no way to calculate the damage they have really done. The future deaths of 10s of millions Americans may be their responsibility. This has been the most arrogant, greedy, and incompetent presidency in US history.

I remember when she started she used to have this stern sort of lecturing tone , now she has obviously been counselled and she has toned it down, but the fact that she has changed her public persona in such an obvious and plastic way has damaged her credibility.
All she has got going for her, is that she is diverse. Three different diversities rolled into one. And that's the only reason the Republicans push her forward -to show how diverse they allegedly are. It's embarrassing.
She is astonishingly clever though, you can't take that away from her. But the secrecy surrounding her sexuality smacks too much of J Edgar Hoover for my liking. I mean, who cares?

No. Other countries do not respect women in authoritative roles like Western countries do. They think she is a joke. She doesn't really seem tough enough to be a Secretary of State, no matter how smart she is.

Nobody takes her seriously because they see that she is only interested in her own personal achievement: being the first black woman in the job. In China they openly mock her in the media as George Bush's guerilla (I didn't think minority people could be racist, I thought only white people were racist). When she was a sovietologist she never saw the downfall of communism. She has no achievements to show for the past five years.

I guess she is about as good as all the previous idiots. She looks kind of threatening when she frowns - I think this is probably why idiot Bush chose her? :-)
