Each sensory receptor detects its own special form of energy and transmits a signal to the brain. The reception of the signal in the brain represents sensation. How the brain interprets these signals and makes them meaningful is called perception. Most of the time the interpretation of the received energy is consistent with it. Sometimes, however, our interpretation is incorrect. These misinterpretations are called illusions. When we witness an illusion, we perceive something that does not correspond to what is actually out there—what exists in the real world. Illusions fool us. They convince us of things that are not true. Dictionary definitions of illusion usually state that an illusion is a sensory perception that causes a false or distorted impression, or a misrepresentation of a "real" sensory stimulus. While these definitions are correct, psychologists have also included a number of phenomena where there is no necessary incorrect interpretation of a stimulus but rather that there are two or more quite different interpretations from a single stimulus, but never more than one at a given moment.

Something that appears to be real, but isnt.
Ex. U think that someone loves u.U think that they are an angel, and then someday u finally see that they are actually a manipulative, lying Jerk. This shows that what u saw previously was an illusion.

infinate love is the only truth ,everything else is an illusion including everything you see.
there are eleven dimensions ,we only see 3% of 3 of them we are practically blind in our own world and of those 3 % a lot of it is sensored or lies
if you take some mushroom ,visual doors are opened and the world is full of auras ,coming from all live objects trees plants animals and people .these we normally do not see because the brain sensors them out ,but they are real enough.
matter at a quantum physics level consists of space surrounded by vibrating strings of energy, the type vibrations determine the shape of the whole
and our brains agree on what we see.
we only use a fraction of our brains ,a lot of it seems to be locked
who locked it ????
the Anunaki who created us as slaves to mine gold for them ,???did they create a homo sapian with limited mental capabilities ,on purpose ,so that we would remain under their control
and everything we see and know is limited ,to what we are allowed to see and know,is our intelect sensored and restricted???
so many mysteries ,so many questions ,so much to know that we know of ,and so much tp know that we cant even imagine .
better sit down have a beer, and watch the football ,it is much easier and safer,at least that is real
or is it?????????

From a phenomenological point of view, probably that which is not an object of thought (i.e. nothing, or is it Nothing? lol). All the rest is merely an illusion of illusion. ..... Time to take a quick coffee break, huh? :-)

Everything is an illusion. This word is only as we believe it is. If someone was taught that water is hard and land is liquid they would perceive it that way. All is only a perception.

Understanding oneself as body-alone is an illusion.

Understanding existence as other than co-existence is an illusion.

Living in illusion is painful.

Living in reality and with understanding is blissful.

Only you can define that. The internet can be an illusion, your life, your loofa, your dreams, your sense of smell, my words, his laughter, our thoughts...

Sorry, I didn't mean to make that answer into a corny 7th grade poem...

A false vision or a hoax. A trick of the eye, if you will.
