You're talking about Sheik Alhilali's comment.

He talks like men are a bunch of uncontrollable animals that can't grasp the concept of self-control. Its just a whole bunch of bullcrap.

I guess this is a reference to the 'Leaving meat uncovered' speech by that Muslim cleric? Appalling, and revealing. I once heard a Muslim say that there should be no such crime as rape in the west, because all western women were whores. Mind you, I've heard things from Xtian fundies that were just as bad.

Religion sucks.

he is disgusting to have said such a thing, and like all these muslim clerics they seem to live in their own small world that just revolves around them. They seem filled with hatred towards anyone but the ones that follow them.

some of their comments are disgusting, they see women as second class citizens who are not worthy as living the same life as them. these women who wear the veil are stupid do they not believe they have a basic right to be seen. ....... why do they want to put womens rights back centuries. If they are in their own country i could understand it BUT they dont need to live that that here, cant they understand that.

i feel sorry for all these muslim men it seems its them that need to control themselves if they cant handle being around a woman that is showing her face

the biggest problem with the muslim religion is that its about 600 years behind us. so maybe in about 600 years they might be able to lighten up a bit and learn to enjoy the life that "their God" has given them.

i use to be very easy going with religion but the muslim beliefs astound me, i feel uneasy around them now and i dont trust them, they have brought that all on themselves though with their extremism and their attitudes towards other people whatever their religion.

just WHO do they think they are?

Yes, they should.

I'm not a Muslim but I understand their religion & culture--women are under order from the Prophet Muhammad to veil themselves (NOT to wear the burkha like the Talibs demanded; the Qu'ran asks only that they wear a headscarf & cover the majority of their bodies so as not to invite the eyes of men--they're ordered, essentially, to dress modestly & not like a ****) because men are incapable of restraining themselves if they see a beautiful woman. The Qu'ran clearly berates a man's inability to control himself & a woman's ability to control herself--hence the girl is the one to take measures to keep her body out of view.

If a country operates under Islamic Shari'a, then yes, rapists should definitely get reduced sentences for assaulting MUSLIM women who have not heeded their Prophet's instructions. No reduced sentences for non-Muslim women.

No a veil should not matter. But in many countires it does and that is pure ignorance. Rape is a crime, what the woman was wearing on her head at the time the crime was committed is not improtant. Syria probably has a law like this and it is pure ignorance.

Rather unhelpful article aside, rape is rape whether it's done to a woman wearing a hijab or not. All rapists should get at least twenty years.
