This is just speculation: The first wheeled vehicles had two wheels like chariots and carts. But if you put a load in a two wheeled cart it will tip over. That is not a problem with a second axel vehicle. They used the same design for cars.

If this is a serious question...a car has four wheels because it offers more stability for the weight of the car and makes it easier to handle.

There have been, and are, some 3 wheeled cars. If they only have 2 wheels........... they are called MOTORCYCLES!

the car was designed with one wheel and three spares....but they couldn't figure out whereto put the three spares so they redesigned the car to have 4 wheels and 1 spare...cooldealio...
