Being mean to others means that they will stay away from you, the advantage of this is that you will never let anybody get close enough to hurt you. Never feel the pain of having someone you love, tell you that they donnot feel the same. You chase them away before they have the chance.

The "advantage" would be a fleeting satisfaction. The disadvantages far outweigh any advantage. You would not gain respect from others who would see you merely as an insecure bully and you, if you have any insight at all, would not be able to respect youself. Your employer would see you as not being a teamplayer but would see you as a troublemaker, divisive, and untrustworthy.
How would you feel if the question was actually: "What is the advantage of others being mean to me?"

There are really no advantages of being a *mean* person. Although you could be a very strict and firm person, so others will not try to walk all over you and take advantage of you. But *mean*? Naw, there ain't no reason for being mean, hunny.

The advantages are only short-term. Maybe you will get your way more often than not, but in the end, you will still end up worse off.
People will resent you, and they will generally be mean back to you.

In this world only people mean are getting richer and richer and also they are safe. But to be honest u r mean or merciful it all depends on the construction. How u are made of is important. If u r constructed with cherecteristics of merciful, understanding, come what may u cannot change on the other hand if u r mean and cheap then chances are u may not change for good.

You get a chance to make more money and move up in the corporate ladder. Bullies become powerful both in the physical and psychological sense. Blind ambition is another way of being mean.

If your aim is to feel terrible and not have any friends, then go right ahead and be as mean as you like. You might feel "superior" or better about yourself temporarily, but believe it, it's a hollow victory that is very short-lived and leaves you feeling lonely and bitter.

You think you are establishing your dominance to prevent people from being mean to you.

In a group, it looks cool and can cover the fact that you have nothing interesting or real to being to a situation or discussion.

You do not have to feel rejected by them because you rejected them first.
[and are therby not worthy to reject you]
