Abortion is one of the most sensitive issues in our society, and likely will be forever.
There are so many degrees of thought, that it is hard to imagine any agreement ever being reached.
I am Liberal. I don't like abortion any more than any conservative. However, sometimes abortion is necessary (atopic pregnancy). Other times it may be preferred (rape, inceest) Sometimes it is the result of failed birth control attempts (Condoms, the pill, even Vasectomies aren't 100%)
However, when it is the result of someone who is using it as birth control, that is clearly unacceptable by most.
Moreover, when Republicans want to legislate against it, they are hypocrits, because they are unwilling to provide their tax dollars to support the child (Healthcare, Nutrition, Clothing, Education, Shelter and opportunities befitting an American Citizen.
Abortion should always be the last resort, but it will always exist. If Republicans really cared, they would put their tax dollars where their mouth is and support the aforementioned programs. They would support a national Healthcare system that would ensure every woman could have free birth control. The number of abortios woud drop by 90% if they did. Put your money where your mout is if you want something, don't preach if you won't pay.

I don't know what California's law is exactly, but most states that have this law of double homicide for the murder of a pregnant woman, the gestational age of the child must be old enough that it is viable.
So no, it is not hypocritical. Abortion laws do not allow for a viable child to be aborted, and murder charges would not be brought if the child was not viable.

Yes, however there needs to be a date of pregnancy set where it is typically 'ok' or morally acceptable for abortion because of rape and incest. If there was a time limit set, I think it would solve a lot of problems.
I don't agree with abortions but I would not totally disagree with very early ones as apposed to ones done after a long period of time. I think the pregnant person should take a week to think about what she is doing and become truthfully informed on what she is doing. Then make a final decision. Unfortunately abortion clinics are out for money as well as customers and misinform girls and women as to what the procedure actually does and is. They think they are removing tissue and blood and thats all. WRONG.

Abortion must not be allowed because it is a killing of a fetus who is technically a human being already.
