GO BACK TO COURT

You have to go to the Family Court at Havelock Road to have the Court Order being reviewed and cancel by the Judge.

If you have been giving the maintenance promptly, you should not worry. However, you have to be prepared if your ex-wife would like to continue you paying the maintenance to your son. This will be looked by the Court on the account if your son, no doubt he is 21 now, is still schooling and your ex-wife is not working or receiving a low income. The decision of the Court will be based after the Judge reviewed the situation of your son, your wife and yourself.

About the PPO, since there is hardly any contact with your ex-wife for few years, you can request to cancel the PPO order from the Family Court too. But be prepared to answer the Court should they ask you reasons for you to cancel the PPO. But you have to remember not to make any mistakes or the PPO will always be there.

Anything just email me at sincereloan@yahoo.com.sg

Glad to share with you.

Oh yes he has to pay. If guys could take a "break" from child support and alimony just for being on paternity leave, just think about how many guys would be out of work claiming paternity leave. Judges and lawmakers know all the tricks guys and girls will use to get out of child support payments, so they do not go away for any reason. My suggestion is for him to keep paying and catch up the arrearage before they toss him in jail. And guess what? He will STILL have to pay.

I can't speak for Singapore law but in California all this is handled by court. Contact the municipal agency which issued the PPO and the divorce, they must know the process.
Good Luck.
