What this Stop Error Code Means:
0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Requested data was not in memory. An invalid system memory address was referenced. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this Stop message, as may other hardware problems (e.g., incorrect SCSI termination or a flawed PCI card).
What OS are you running? What program were you running when this occurred? Were you installing a video graphics card? Whatever program or hardware that was executing caused this problem. Because there are far too many issues with this stop code 0x00000050,0... it is extremely difficult to diagnose it with the information that you have given.
What it could be:
1.Virus
2.Trojan Rootkit
3. Hardware Device Driver installation gone bad.
4. Motherboard upgrading and updating
5. In Windows 2000 a program bug Q266762 - SP2 needs to be loaded.

General Stop Error Code Troubleshooting Guide
1. Examine the “System” and “Application” logs in Event Viewer for other recent errors that might give further clues. To do this, launch EventVwr.msc from Start>Run; or open “Administrative Tools” in the Control Panel then launch Event Viewer.
2. If you’ve recently added new hardware, remove it and retest.
3. Run hardware diagnostics supplied by the manufacturer.
4. Make sure device drivers and system BIOS are up-to-date.
5. However, if you’ve installed new drivers just before the problem appeared, try System Restore to roll back the system to the next previous day the older ones.
6. Open the box and make sure all hardware is correctly installed, well seated, and solidly connected.
7. Confirm that all of your hardware is on the Microsoft Hardware Compatibility List. If some of it isn’t, then pay particular attention to the non-HCL hardware in your troubleshooting.
8. Check for viruses.
9. Investigate recently added software.
0. Examine (and try disabling) BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.

Well, I sure would stick in a LiveCDrom to test the hardware, cuz thai could be a normally broken M$ system!
Indicative of a full drive, or crapped out memory...
Had one the other day on the bench where simple vibration over a six month period since the customer had bought new added RAM, it has vibrated loose, so it was failing later, after boot up tests were passed!
Opened case, put on the ESD strap to protect it. and reseated the RAM sticks.
Then, we ran the LiveCDrom of Linux and it all ran great!
So, when we re-booted to Micro$loth, the bloatware crashed as it had corrupted files saved in many areas of the system...
Reloaded the O$ for $80, the normal fee. Now it works...
Coulda saved a ton of $$$ for the re-install, if she just ran http://pclinuxos.com because it is a simple single click to 'install'
from the desktop of the live booted CDrom version...

I'm sorry, but you have encountered the "Blue Screen of Death". Hopefully, you know a tech that won't charge an arm and a leg just to diagnose the problem. Whatever you do, stay away from the Geek Squad from Best Buy. Everyone I know that has used them has had more problems AFTER their computers were "fixed" than before.
Good luck!

I think to fix this problem you may have to increase you PageFileSize. I am not sure what operating system you are usng. This can happen when memory gets crrupted/overloaded nad forces the computer to restart.
I had this problem long time ago and what i did was re-installed the whole operating system on system disk again. but it is not necessary that it will fix the problem or stop the blue screen from poping up...you may have to adjust you memory consumption.
Cheers!!!

If your computer hangs or reboots while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This problem can be solved by uninstalling new softwares, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yk5zpr
