29% body fat
I don't look too fat, but its just that the weight....I could never figure out why it was so high! My friends say that it is muscle, but I think they are just being good friends. I know its kinda hard to make a decision on that info, but didn't really want to provide a photo. Thanks for any replies!

Wow,that's tall 13. I don't think that your fat. I'm 5'3 and 180lbs. The taller you are the thinner you look. Someone that has the same weight as you ( like you and I) but is shorter will look heavier.I have a friend that is about 20lbs. lighter then me but she is only 5' so she looks heavier. If you think your chubby it's probably still baby fat. If you start working out a little it will tone you up. However I think you will be very tall after all your only 13 and already 5'8"
I'm not saying that there is not tall fat people. It's a good thing your thinking about it now so you start taking care of your body now.When I was your age I was very thin and thought I 'd always look that good.

29% body fat is considered a bit high, but you are within range. If I were you, I would become more active and try to eat healthier. I wish that I would have developed healthier habits at your age instead of waiting until my 20's to try to do so. See if you could sign up for martial arts classes, join a sport, start a running club with your friends. You're 13 so you still have your "baby fat," so to speak, but becoming more active is never a bad thing.

5'8 is tall and if you are muscle (weighs 7 times as much as fat) then that weight is great, if you have extra weight on your tummy or hiney do some walking and weight training, cut back on the whites, sugar flour, milk, and load up on vegetables and fruit.
also you are 13, you may have some growing to do, just dont be a couch potato... and you will be fine. If you think you are good, then dont pay any attention to the stupid magazines.

Oink. I'm 5'11" and weigh 185. My body fat is lower too and even though I work out, I can see a little "extra" here and there.
That 29% body fat is a giveaway that it's not muscle. If it was, you'd have it around 10-15%.
If you wanted better answers, you could give us measurements like waist/chest/biceps/neck...

no age has a number of body weight that you should """BE""" every body has different body mass and different bone structure....my friend is 6"3 175 pounds but VERYYYYYYYYYY SKINNY cuz hez tall and his heavy bones make his weight...so just excersise 3-4 times a week eat healthy and ull be fine

Based on your height, you should weigh 155-160 pounds. Cut back on carbs to lose the weight.
