PS2 has been around for longer. It has an ENORMOUS library of games and accessories (over 1,300 games) and can, like the xbox, play your favourite CD's and DVD's. the XBOX360, however, has only been around for a few months, and unlike the PS2 has a limited collection of games. The XBOX360 is, however, right up to speed in terms of graphics quality and power. Sony are about to release (March 2007 if you live in Aus) a new PlayStation (PS3), to compete with Microsoft's XBOX360. They should keep making PS2 games for a while, however (they were making PSone games up until 2004 or something!), since the PS3 will be backwards compatible with PS2, PSone games.

Quite a bit. To have a more fair comparison please look at the PS3 instead. It will be out shortly and is superior to the 360 in terms of hardware and Sony usually has better games. The 360 beats the pants off the PS2 though. There's no contest there.

Well, I work at a gaming store, and I do happen to know that there is a lot more space devoted to the ps2 games than to the xbox 360.
