Great Question! I have never understood the appeal. I love movies and watch Dramas, Comedies, Action, Thrillers, War Flicks, and even Romance films and I enjoy them all. However, Horror films just don't do it for me. Most seem contrived and predictable and they have such senseless violence. There doesn't seem to be much of a point to them.

I understand that "to each their own" and I don't begrudge any horror fan their passion for it but I have never been able to figure out why folks like them so much.

Could the Psychology be that you take your greatest terrors and fears and be able to faced them (by watching) and even laugh at them (in cases like Scream) and it can give one a sense of control over a situation that in reality would be the furthest thing from humor or control if it were actually happening.

If its a zombie action picture, i'm usually amused. till that's an exceedingly good one that certainly has some worry in it :3 yet something with evil previous women or little women scares me shitless.
