psychology can help you to identify and deal with different groups of people-eg. deviants,gays,depressives,mental patients etc.,and you can be more sensitive to their needs, inclinations and interests.eg. if you knew more about transsexuals you wouldn't address them by their real sex etc.i think psychology can enhance the way you interact with others,the way you talk, and the way you socialise so basically,yes,psychology is a useful tool in social work.
