Maybe because of history and the methods applied in the past, eugenics has become a taboo. Even today, the expression "designer's baby" is used in a negative sense. However, modern society has all but excluded the possibility of natural selection, because it makes it possible for people with severe genetically caused disadvantages to survive and pass on the gene. It also affects the "advantages" too. In a social environment, you might expect that intelligence would be an asset that would help increase the number of off springs, but I don't believe there is any correlation there either.

At some point we, as a species, will have to deal with the question of how to maintain the gene pool healthy and even improve or adapt it.

Eugenics has the characteristic of being, what is considered by many, to evolve from many kerblabian idea of logic and thinking. Whereas, to you, the opposite of right might be wrong, to them it is a different level of the same thought. Perhaps to understand this problem you should take a class in Derteromics.

Eugenics would create a separate class of humanity. Just another point of contention.

Nothing, unless you look at some of the old methods which are so dated...

It's hated because Nazis used and abused the "science" to justify their BS Aryan Race, along with colonial European subjugation of Africans.

But there are correlations between IQ and ethnicity...
How you interpret that data depends on how robust the methodology is behind intelligence testing.

Sometimes...I think absolutely nothing. On a really bad day I ponder the idea of issuing licenses to shoot people who are both stupid and hateful. This could be done easily enough by taking an IQ test along with a brief psychological profiling exam. lol Then again i have to deal with alot of really stupid, hateful people sometimes, could be just the stress talking.
