If so, what do you want them to say? I love my dog, and I swear I can read his thoughts, sometimes.. just once it would be really cool,, silly yes.. but cool.

You are so right! I swear sometimes I see a light bulb go off over my dog's head when he finally understands what I'm saying to him! He's "Joe-Cocker......Spaniel." He lets his intentions known. My boyfriend all the time asks me "What does he want?" If Joe could talk I'd really like him to tell me that he loves me as much as I love him. Or at least where his boo-boo's are. A 12 year old dog has to have ouchies!

I have a dog and 2 cats and I would like them - just once, like you said - to reassure me that I'm doing the right things to make them really happy.

No, it's great that they don't talk. That's why you love them so much because you are the only person talking. Some times it's what you hear someone say that totally snaps the love right out of.

No. The whole point of having a pet is the element of the perfect, silent friend. Besides, my Chocolate Lab would demand more food and I would be broke!

Well my pet speaks he is an Parrot sometimes I regret it especially when peoples comes and visit me and I don't like them he will start to swear at them and tell them to F***k off!

No, because it is now too easy to believe that my cat loves me unconditionally. If she could speak, I may not like what she has to say: "You go away every morning and abandon me here by myself when you should be out in the back yard so I can supervise your every move!" or "How can I teach you to hunt for your own snakes if you're not here during the day for your lesson!" or "Oh no! Savory salmon feast again???? Please, somebody shoot me!"

I think we all somehow get that feeling but be real careful that you don't get to the point where you really think your communicating or they'll find a nice rubber room for you. lol
