A new survey has confirmed the belief of many men - that women are the grumpier sex first thing in the morning. They are not only grumpier more often, they also stay in a bad mood for longer. The survey by the Sleep Council found 24% of men said they never woke up grumpy, as opposed to only 14% of women.
It also found 13% of women stayed in a bad mood for two to four hours, compared to 10% of men.

Yes I do agree! I need a while to get up, have my brekky, check the email....and I don't want to talk to anybody during that. I hate it when my husband wants conversation that makes sense first thing in the morning! I need time to get my eyes open and my brain functioning before I deal with the problems of the day.

Absolute rubbish. Who pays for these ridiculous surveys?? I can categorically say that I wake up every morning (except for the odd occasion) in a good mood, whereby my other half is always grumpy (again, except for the odd occasion). Put on breakfast TV, or the News, and listen to those men arguing with the newsreader.......... And if women are grumpy in the morning, then blame the men in their lives cos they obviously haven't pulled their weight the night before with the chores, thus making the women so tired......... enough said

No I think the women are probably just being more honest.
You can't take a survey seriously when it's basing it's results on the people's opinion of themselves. What a load of tosh.
Both my sister and my dad wake up in REALLY bad moods. Me and my mum never do.
It's not about sex it's about personality and other factors like how you deal with problems and express your moods or emotions.

im a woman and the only time i will have the hump in the morning is if i get woken up and i have to say that if you meet my dad you might disagree - he he the grumpest person ever in the morning,thats why im glad he lives 4 hours away!!!
but i have to say that if i do wake up with the hump 9 times out of 10 im ok once iv had a cup of tea and a cigrette lol

yes i think that is so true,my boyfriend always wakes up happy an tries it on first thing in the morning with me,he does it all the time even though he knows he aint gonna get it lol i like to get up an sit down with a nice cup of tea.

I agree, but I'm only speaking for myself, I like to be alone in the morning so I can get myself ready without interruption, I don't even like speaking for the first couple of hours....but I know a few guys like this too.....

I think we need more sleep than men and take longer to wake up. Some of us have the good grace not to take it out on others, but most of us probably feel that way.

Hehe, I am FOUL in the mornings! Esp since I Stopped drinking caffeine about 3 years ago, now I stay narkier for longer - decaf tea just doesnt quite get me going lol!!! Now p*ss off and leave me alone!!! ;O) xx

Based on my personal experience, I agree totally!!
I'm generally grumpy in the morning.
Men are so simple minded..women think too much
They dont think about yesterday or tomorrow.

Only when they got bummer sex the night before. They never wake up grumpy when they are next to me!
