I'm 17 year olds, but am in dire need of all the vitamins Centrum (from A to Zinc) has to offer. However, the label says adults only, keep away from children. Can I, as a 17 year old teen take it as well? Would there be any negative affects?

I've chewed them, I can't swallow large pills. Nothing happens. They aren't time released so I don't see why not. Wellness advisor says this.. Can I cut vitamin tablets in half if I can’t swallow them whole? The vast majority of supplements may be cut in half, crushed, or chewed if swallowing is a challenge. Softgels that are too large to swallow may be punctured or cut in half to release the contents into a spoon or food source. The only products of exception are those that are timed-release or enteric coated. Such supplements should be swallowed whole Oh, don't put it in a drink, it settles at the bottom and takes forever! I just chewed them quick and drank something after. Or put it in a teaspoon of something just to get it down.

Why do you say you are in dire need of taking all vitamins? You can take Centrum, but you are better off eating a lot of fruits and vegetables.

I think it's safe to say you can take the vitamin without problem. The "children" labels refer to are generally kids that would confuse vitamins or medications for candy because they don't know any better....

With a reg otc vitamin it should be safe- and have no negative effects- the RDA is a very old guideline and you can take much more than the RDA and not have problems- D
