Listen to the radio, watch tv where you can follow the story and know what is being said and how it is said. Read, read , read! Read newspapers, funny books, textbooks and anything you can so you get the way English is spoken and written better understood. You will begin to notice phrases that go together and where they are applied. When you dream in English you will be understanding and using English well!Practice reading out loud in front of your mirror like you are talking to a friend. I had 22 foriegn exchange students live with me and this helped them. Talk and don't be ashamed. Most of Americans only speak one language! Best wishes!

First of all u remove the feeling of ashamedness.Every body is a learner at some or the other point of time. So, to improve ur language u sit in a room alone and start speaking english for 1/2 an hour daily. Then after 1 month u will gain confidence and then u can slowly start speaking before ur friends. This is the best way.u will speak good language I am sure of it.
good luck.

Give it time. I work in a bilingual school. May teachers come to the US not speaking English, It usually take them about 5 or 6 months to get comfortable with English. Don't be too hard on your self, find some good American friends that are patient. That way you can be around the language more. I know it is easy to find people who speak your mother tongue, but try to talk with English speaking people as much as possible. Good Luck!

1) close your eyes and visualize as often as possible that you are speaking english perfectly like the english news readers!
2) Dont be ashamed of speaking incorrect english or learning or practising anything in life. Realize that everyone is a learner of something or the other at one point in life! even the mother tongue that you or anyone speaks is because of practice. so, if you put your heart and mind into learning english and PRACTICE, you will speak english.
3) Find out which sense you use for learning, some by seeing can remember a lots of things, some by hearing can remember a lots of things. some by doing it, some by drawing it! Think ask your family and friends. everyday make free time for yourself. listen to standard english news, intently! watch their lip movement. stand in front of a mirror and copy the same, read and speak english with mouth wide open because English is spoken this way by both Americans and British. When you read anything read aloud, if you are in a public place then read with a whisper that you can hear. Read books and Cd's. Also hear people who speak bad english and try NOT to prononuce it that way! English grammar is funny, you dont have perfect rules for it. so it will take time. dont try to learn grammar from a book, just listen to people who present the news and just copy the same because the news in english should be the right one because they are telecasting in to large number of audience so they CAN'T make mistakes!
Have patience, dont try to learn anything in a day, REMEMBER: ROME IS NOT BUILT IN A DAY. It will take time for you to develop. Dont be discouraged when you make mistake, just try to learn the right way AND FORGET ABOUT THE ERROR!
visualization, practice, patience and the ideas to achieve will get you anything in life!
all the very best in all your learning!

Practice makes perfect, so try to use English as much as possible. If you have a chance to talk to native speakers it is even better, or try to find magazines with taped interviews- an example is the old Italian Speak Up. It's important to learn things little by little, don't rush at learning everything at a time.
The idea of using a mirror works too, you can check the way of uttering words by the position of lips and tongue.
For fluency the best suggestion is still talking, talking, talking... don't bother about grammar at first, focus on fluency- then list your mistakes and get someone to help you correct them.

First, you learn grammar and prepare yourself for making correct sentences
Secondly, buy and read English newspaper aloud… read it loudly… for at least one hour daily…
Thirdly, listen to English news bulletin regularly and notice carefully the pronunciation and accent of the newsreader (pronunciation is how you speak a word and accent is how you breakup a word and stress a particular latter in the word for an appropriate vocal reproduction)
Fourthly, increase your vocabulary... so that you should be able to use different words for the same subject… make it a habit to refer dictionary more frequently… keep a dictionary with you most of the time… at least on your working table
Last but not the least... fix up a deal with one of your best friends or family members, for speaking in English only and ask others to point out mistakes in your speech

PRACTICE, that's what you need. Watch english movies, TV shows, and imitate how they speak. Also, read english books, magazines, newspapers to broaden your english vocabulary. And always visit Mr. Webster for words you don't understand. And keep talking to your friends, they will be willing to help you and correct your grammar, just don't be ashamed of it... stay cool... c",)
