Transparency is needed so that activities of candidates will be known to the people whether he is good to be a leader.
Accountability forces the candidate to declare his assets and liabilities before the election and during his term of office.

Of course YES! I think that if they want to be in power if they want our future's in their hands they have to be held accountable!
With great power comes great responsibility! We should not just blindly trust the morals and capabilities of one man on his word,
Don't you think that the temptation to deviate would be too great for one man to bear if he knows that we are just blindly trusting him? After all he is just human!

Good idea. How do you propose doing it? Voters COULD base their votes on these issues, but I don't see any sign of it happening.
