Not all communities will be doing Trick-or-Treating on Halloween night. Some are doing it the night before and some the weekend before. I'd suggest calling a local television station or going to their web site to find out. The time for it is usually in this time frame, 5:30 to 8:30.

"Trick or treating" is done on Halloween night. (See "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown"). :D
It's usually done from dusk (just when it starts to get dark) to around 8p.m. or 9p.m.-the later time if you have older children or teenagers escorting the younger kids). Keep in mind there are other Halloween/costume related events both before and on that night but the children "shouldn't" be at your door asking for candy. (Although sometimes after a party or event they may stop by since they are dressed-had that happen a few times! lol). One side note: whenever my parents ran out of candy, they always had little halloween bags with a few toys (rubber spider rings, glow in the dark skull or pumpkin toys, mini witche's hats, etc.,--you can find these in the candy/party section at Halloween time) and some pennies or small change (if you can afford to). I hope this helps. Have a fun and safe "All Hallow's Eve" ...Happy Halloween! :F~

I've heard of backwards towns doing it the weekend before..which is silly because it's not even Halloween. You can give your local Police a call and they would know.
