Perhaps if the man were a better public speaker, people would not be so critical of him, but he radiates stupidity when speaking and it is hard to take a man that says "nuculer" and "strategerize" seriously.

I voted for him the first time, but not the second. I can't stand the man. I think he may have been seen as a stronger person than his opponent. I personally didn't like any of my choices at the time, but voted for the one I felt was a lesser of two evils. (kerry) I'm a military wife. I hate what I see happening to the families that are being torn apart by deployments, injuries and deaths as a result of this thing Bush claims we are winning.
I do not think we should pull out of Iraq tomorrow, but the people there running their own country should be a higher priority than it apparently is for this administration. I don't want to see a vacuum left like was left for the Taliban to fill in Afghanistan. It's possible that there could be someone come into power that would be worse than Saddam.
But stopping the deaths, of Iraqis AND American forces that are there, needs to happen MUCH more quickly than it has so far.
Our type of democracy is not necessarily the right type for that country. Cultural differences are so great that I really don't think what we have in the US will work there.
Do they need help? Yes. Do we need to still be there in 5 years, not in my opinion. Too many families have been devastated by Bush trying to clean up the mess his daddy left when he was in office.
The ONLY good thing I see in this last election is the fact that GW Bush cannot hold the office again. Jan 20 of 2009 cannot come soon enough for me.

If you want an answer: Osama. Remember the video that aired
a few days with him before the 2004 US election. Before the video aired, it was still a tossup between Kerry and Bush. After the video aired, the video helped Bush get the cushion he needed to win. I think most US voters vote for the Republicans, when national security is the predominant issue. If they are more concerned about the US economy, then they should vote for the Democratic Party, since the US economy tends to do better when they are in charge, in terms of balanced budgets and the unemployment rate. It depends on what the voters want. The
Christian right wing neoconservative types vote for the Republicans, while the trade union types go for the Democrats.
I don't think you should nuke any country. The radiation effect
could travel for thousands of miles, and kill millions of innocent people.

I rather tell you what I like about him
First off, the idea of blaming everything on Bush is ridiculous. Yes hes the president, but the way our govenment works is he's NOT the only guy doing everything - We have Congress and the Senate - - other people pulling the strings.
I like that Bush loves his wife. After living through the loveless-Clinton administration where it seemed like both were in it for political gains, George and Laura are a good example for all of us. He loves his family.
Bush is honest - mostly because he lacks the smooth velvet , used-car salesman tongue we all knew and loved from Clinton.
Bush is incapable of lying - -he might NOT KNOW... but he wont lie. Hes not smooth enough to do it.
Because Bush loves his family he considers laws that are in the best interest for families - - opposing same sex marriage, opposes Abortions.
I love Bush's "Dont Mess with Texas" mentality. Hes a cowboy and if someone spits in your face, you dont have to spit back, but you make sure they don't do it again. I dont want war and sure I feel those troops have been there too long, but those kids signed up, they're adults and 90% of them love what they do.
Hes not the perfect world leader - sure hes flawed and a crappy public speaker, but I like him. and when his term is up, I'll vote for the next best candidate whether he be Democrat - Republican, or whatever.

The US Presidency is not a dictatorship, in other words he does not have 100% control as most people believe he does. A president is basically a public relations person. No one ever blames congress for the things that go wrong. Bush has not been a bad president, he has had a lot of things to deal with that I am afraid there could have been worse descisions made. Out of the two choices we had, we only had one logical choice because Kerry couldn't remember what he had said 5 minutes earlier.

To anyone who thinks Bush is good in any way or sense hasn't followed his years in office.
To date he has not done one good thing. He has forgotten about the "no child left behind act", he has let the economy slide until the average joe said enough is enough and they turned it around themselves. Bush had nothing to do with it.
He doesn't have anything to do with gas going down either like some preach. If you look at gas prices every year they go up in the summer and down in the fall. This past summer they were higher than normal due to situations like Katrina destruction, close down of the BP oil line for over a month, 5 major oil carriers were put out of commision this year and the replacements are still being built. How did Bush effect this? He didn't.
Then you look at his party...they say Rep's are for the good of the people, don't raise taxes etc. But the Rep's spend and spend and spend. We have the highest deficit we have ever seen and are borrowing 2 billion..yes BILLION a week from China to fund this so called war.
Then you can get into how many of his people are crooked and have been caught lately.
You can look at how his entire inner circle and cabinet are members of other presidencies and are all big money makers and been in the business for awhile. They know how to snub the American people.
The problem is American's are just flat up lazy and would rather take at face value what a TV news broadcast tells them. Never realizing who owns that news channel and then who owns that company and then who owns that company and wow....you are back to the same inner circle we talked about before.
Germany was blind, dumb and ignorant in allowing Hitler rise to power and create their version of homeland security. Who after taking power bombed their own headquarters and claimed the enemy did it to have the people rise up behind them for war. Gee....sure sounds familar to 9/11 huh.
Some day in history it will be told that America became the 4th Reight under Bush. Hitler controlled the 3rd Reight. Look at all the leaks.....sending terrorists to other countries to be beaten for info yet denies it....same down in Cuba. Saying "stay the course" when generals are saying he's nuts.
A guy who didn't serve nor have any real military time is in charge of our services and not following the advice of the men that created the service.....and people still think Bush is intelligent? Anyone in basic business knows a good leader listens to his people, bad leaders do as they wish and only as they wish.
Some day America will wake up.....when its too late.

I have no real issues with president Bush. More of today's issues are occurring because of Congressional recklessness and abuse of power. People often blame many things that are out of his control on the president, which is usually due to the media pressing the issue as hard as they can. Also I believe Bush saw a second term due to the lack of a strong Democratic candidate.
