Pros:
Targets child's area of academic difficulty.

Specialized testing to find out the cause(s) physical, physiological,hereditary, etc.

Doesn't make child feel like a failure or giving into a poor self esteem

I do not agree with it at all. If a child is not ready to be promoted to the next grade then they shouldn' t be allowed to move on. By doing so, I believe that it will bring a series of problems for the child. He will continue to fall behind and even feel discouraged towards school.

it's just a shell game. public education isn't being improved. schools merely find ways to make it look like they're doing a good job. the goal is to maximize funding to the school, not maximize student education.
