I understand your frustrations and sometimes you just have to vent. I too have found myself fuming over some of the questions and answers in different categories on Yahoo Answers.
Yes I vote. I raise my children to understand that voting is a right that they must exercise. I have them watch the debates and read up on the candidates. If they ask me who to vote for I always tell them that they need to make up their own mind and the only way to do that is by researching the candidates. My children that are not old enough to vote always go with me and my husband when we do. We encourage them to watch the debates and to ask questions. Political discussions have always been a norm in our family. We may not always agree but we are informed.
I do not vote just because someone is a Democrat or a Republican. I vote Independent. The man or woman that I feel like has the best interest of the Nation, or sometimes the lesser of the two evils, gets my vote. My husband feels the same way. A man once told us that if Hitler had been a Democrat that he would have voted for him. I can not understand that mind frame.
What really frustrates me, is it seems the people that yell and critcize the loudest, longest and harshest are the ones that don't even bother to vote. My feelings on that are, you gave up your right to complain when you found something better to do then vote. Another is the people that say, "I don't vote because my vote wouldn't matter anyway." or "It is just a waste of my time." and my favorite cop-out "I am protesting the elections by not voting." Or possibly the worse, in my opinion, "I don't vote because I do not want to be called for Jury Duty." These are the same people that if they found themselves in a criminal or civil court action would want to exercise their right to a Jury Trial and cause us that do register to vote to take time away from our lives for them. I will have been a registered voter in a small town for 22 years on this Halloween and I have only been summoned for Jury Duty one time. Yes voting is a right, but it is also a a responsibility. A responsibility that we must exercise and follow through with. We must teach our children to look forward to obtaining the age to utilize this right and we must teach them to be informed voters.
As far as ignorant questions go, I have stated this in more than one of my answers, "This question just proves to me that there is such a thing as a stupid question." Maybe it is harsh but the truth often is.
Hang in there and do not let the questions bother you. I realize that is easier said than done sometimes. The ignorant will continue to be blissful in their ignorance, the hostile will continue to refuse to see any point but their own. All that I can suggest is use your right to turn in anyone that breaks the rules of participation. Debate your point in clear, concise, intelligent language and be satisfied that your point will touch someone. Open, honest debate is needed, especially in the time that we are living.
I only wish that we as a Nation would spend as much time and effort on voting as we do on football, the Super Bowl, soccer, sports in general or choosing a Fantasy Football team. Wouldn't that make for a better Government. It is a sad commentary for the people of this Nation when more people vote for contestants on Dancing With the Stars or American Idol then they do for the offices that control this Nation and our lives. I don't know, maybe Drew Lachey (Dancing With the Stars last season winner), Taylor Hicks, Katharine McPhee or Elliott Yaman (last seasons top three finalist on American Idol) should run for the Office of the President, they certainly had more people voting for them.

First time I didn't see the "Annyone from Tokio Hotel" and I was like "WTH where are they??" and then I voted for the someone else one. Lol then went back and found them and got confused on why Taylor Lautner. Wow I am stupid. Oh well, at least Tokio Hotel is WINNING!! Poll: I'd have to say Bill, he's the first guy that's ever made me breathe weird, and I'm not just saying that either lol.

Yes, I vote. I exercise my freedom every chance I get. I try to stay informed on issues and on who is running for office and what they stand for and how they voted while in office (if they held an office).
What scares me are the mindless idiots who vote for a certain party/person simply because their parents, friends, etc, do.
As for those of you who don't vote, shut the frack up! You gave away your chance to gripe when you stayed home from the polls.

Intelligent people are here. You have got to take the good with the bad. Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person's character lies in their own hands. We've got a little bit of everthing here. Peace to you from frogspeaceflower.
P.S. of course I am going to vote....

Vote must be exercised as a right because it is the only participation that a citizen had to choose the leaders.
