You have hit the nail so to speak.
When the strain and the lab quality of the anthrax used was determined, it was not supposed to be made public. The fellow they tried to pin it on (Steven Hatfill) was able to prove his innocence and is now suing the bejeebers out of the FBI.
When people began to ask just how high in the system you'd have to be to access the strain used the investigation suddenly was unable to proceed.
It brings up a lot of questions and is fertile ground for conspiracy theorists.
The death in Boca Raton Florida (Bob Stevens), at a tabloid newspaper which the Bush twins are said to have been talking to adds nutrients to the fertile ground. A story carried in a London tabloid gave shocking details that might or might no be so a couple of years back.
Probably not a good idea to ask too loudly or too often. Part of the "Patriot" Act could be used to force Yahoo! to turn over such information as they have about you to the government.

It did not help the politicians who used it as a scare tactic. Anthrax is not like fumigating for vermin. Pesticides can dissipate or be washed of while Anthrax stays longer and without proper equipment which is expensive and require training it is hard to detect.
Politicians NEVER offered to supply these EXPENSIVE detection devices to people like Civil Defense and personnel that handle emergencies like law enforcement.
Does anyone remember Civil Defense ??? Read about it at
http://www.civildefensemuseum.com/
Being aware of it is only part of the problem. The other are preventive and equipment for survival.
Why are Farms,Ranches, and Water for drinking are not protected against this and other low tech threats ???
