I'm also am overweight and I know what your are going though. The best thing you can do for you and your baby is watch what you eat and try to be active as possible, you will gain weight but eating health helps alot. Do not freak yourself out about your weight, your doctor will help you with this, he/she will keep a close eye on you, he/she will give you the proper test to make sure you don't have anything bad to harm you or the baby and if you do he will be able to put it in check in the beginning. I am 29 weeks and I have gain 19 pounds and I have 10 weeks to go, I have not had High blood pressure or anything else, I have being eating right and try to stay active as possible, Plus I have Multiple Sclerosis, so I did yoga 4 times a week and walk alot. You can do it. Good Luck and Congrats. Enjoy your pregnancy.

I wouldn't suggest losing weight but rather try not to put on more then the doctor recommended weight for your size.I still hadn't lost all the weight from my 1st when I got pregnant with #2. I still kept up with my walking and healthy eating I just upped the calories. I also did yoga. I ate when I was hungry and I did allow myself to have what I was craving. Like if I wanted cake I would get a small piece and not a huge chunk like I did with my 1st lol. In total I put on like 20 lbs and that came off pretty easily.

In general it is okay, some women have been told to...but check with your Dr. You know what you are doing, sounds like your plan will be healthy. One suggestion I will add is to replace soda or fruit juice (have the fruit instead as the juice is pretty much sugar water and lacking fiber and is non-filling). I asked my Dr. about exercise and they said I should not start anything new if I wasn't doing it before except for walking.
Good luck with weight loss and your pregnancy as well.

just eat right, plenty of veggies and fruit, cut out all fast food, first of all it is too fatty and too much salt can run up your blood pressure up, especially if you are on the heavy side already. Keep away from canned soups, cold cuts and any thing salty. Talk a walk around the block a few times, especially after eating is good for you and will make you sleep better at night.

it is not the right time to lose weight or get in shape if you werent already in shape before pregnancy. even though your over weight your baby still needs the extra weight gain, however your not going to need to gain as much as an average sized person. All you can do is make healthier food choices and moderate excersises like waking, all good for the baby. good luck and congrats

You most definately don't need to start dieting like crazy, but just eat healthier and walking is really good for you. Being physical while you're pregnant builds up your stamina for labor.
Oh yea breast feeding helps burn calories for after the baby comes.

if you're pregnant, now is not the time to try to lose weight . . . but eating healthier for the sake of your baby will ultimately help you lose weight . . you should buy the book "what to expect when you're expecting" . . it basically outlines the "pregnancy diet" for you to help you stay on track . . . just don't worry about it too much and always eat when you're hungry . . try to eat more fruits and vegetables and make sure you drink lots of water . . worry about losing weight after your bundle of joy is here!!

yes, you CAN lose weight while pregnant. but it is more dire than ever that you do it the right way.
no pills unless doctor perscribed.
healthy, balanced meals.
moderate excercise.
but before you do ANY of these things you need to schedule an appointment with a doctor so they can tell you exactly what is safe, and what is not.

a lot of women lose weight when they become pregnant for different reasons. but DON"T DIET!! you need to be eating the right foods. i lost 10 lbs right away with both pregnancies cuz all i wanted to eat was fruit. discuss with your dr healthy ways of eating and excercise-you don't want to over do it. be healthy. good luck and congrats.

think about it this way. Whatever you are eating right now, your baby is eating it too. So right now don't try to lose weight, just eat healthier. Walking is very good. It make you feel good overall.
