Im 31 wks pregnant and yes i have had that sensation around the pelvic area. My bubba is a boy and he punches and scratches my pelvic floor all the time especially around the bone areas. You just need to keep count of the contractions and how far apart they are. Its most unlikely u just have 1 contraction because once they start they dont stop. But some women can have extremely large gaps between each one.
Look for other signs in the coming days....a pink coloured mucus in your pants (the mucus cap which unplugs from the cervix when you are due) and look for little leaks in your pants (for clear waterlike fluid). If you are scared of going over the due date dont worry. You can usually go 2 weeks over before they induce you.
Also braxton hicks can become extremely strong right near the due date so u might have mistaken the full on contraction for a mock one instead.

Yes, this is very normal. I didn't feel any contractions until eight days AFTER my due date with my first and she was born 4 hours later. I had contractions about a hour before my second was born 3 days early. Everyone is different. What I went through is not very typical. Typically, you should be in labor for about 10-14 hours, I guess. You may get some Braxton Hick contractions, but these are not the real thing. You will know when the real thing comes, trust me. The pain will be very intense and will have a rhythm to it.
Have a wonderful birth. Congratulation to you and your new family!

A baby comes when it is good and ready, unless there is a medical intervention. Don't worry, your baby can't stay in there forever. I didn't have any contractions until the day I delivered with my oldest. I didn't have any Braxton-Hicks or anything. He was born healthy and on his due date. It will happen. The pressure you are feeling is your baby. His/her hands may be near the face and you can feel the tiny movements. Best of luck.

If this is your first baby it's not odd at all. Most firsts are late and some women go into labor with no warning signs at all. So you're OK.
I've heard women say it felt like their pelvic bones were breaking.

You can be up to 2 weeks late in giving birth. Most docs won't let you go that far. I wouldn't worry about not having contractions yet. Just make sure you are still feeling the baby move. Make sure to do your move count twice a day.

It isn't really weird. I didn't have ANY contraction pains until i went into labor with my 1st 2. But with the one i am pregnant with now I am having lots of Braxton Hicks.
BTW I was 2 weeks late with my 1st son and about on time with my second son.

Yes it is normal, I was 5 days late and only had signs of labor a day before. And that prickly feeling I had that too, I think it is the baby pressing down on nerves.

I have been going for walks the week earlier than however then stopped considering the fact that I was once hoping he could look ahead to my husband to get again from Iraq (that did not determine he got here befor he made it again) I bent over to prefer up a toy that my niece had dropped and it occurred as I was once status up...well success

With my first baby i didnt have any signs that the baby was on its way. I ended up having to be induced 2 weeks after my due date. So dont worry too much, its normal. Good luck with your soon to be born baby :)
