Yes for the children,No for the spouse. If you receive SSD,you will get a check for one half of your monthly benefit for your dependent children. If you have more than one child, you will still only receive half of your benefits. It isn't based on per child, just a general dependent benefit.

Yes I have heard it many times. I wish it were more to actually do something with, since we are often broke by the third week of the month. It's too bad prices for everything couldn't be as they were in the 50's, and we'd still get the same amount of SS as we get now. Then there would be ample money to meet both our bills and be able to buy things to replace what is needed in our homes. What's the most frustrating, is to actually need the checks and yet, there's not enough to actually meet our needs. I hate to think that part of our stimulus checks will go to the grocery store. But it probably will.

Yes and no! depends on the program! They have to pick one of the 2 programs

Social Security Disability Insurance pays benefits to you and certain members of your family if you are "insured," meaning that you worked long enough and paid Social Security taxes.

Supplemental Security Income pays benefits based on financial need.

The mas benefit for non-blind is $810.00, or $9,720 a year!

Spouses and children may be eligible for benefits under SSA if they meet certain requirements. This is also a means tested program! You must have worked for a period of time! The longer you worked the more benefits!

Not sure about the spouse, but I think yes for the children. Call your local SS office.
