Is it too late to have a DNC?

I had a miscarriage about 4 months ago and was never told about a DNC until just recently. I am trying to get pregnant again. I was wondering if it was too late to have a DNC or should I just let my body do what it needs to. Any advise or experience would be helpful. Thanks!

usually they only give you a DNC if you need one. I had 2 miscarriages and I didn't have one either time. are you still having problems with bleeding? if your period hasn't returned to normal see your dr and make sure everything is ok

I also had a miscarriage at 5 weeks and i did not require a D&C because the pregnancy was completely expelled from my body. THey would have done one on you if you needed it and if all of it wasn't out of your body you would of had an infection and weird disharge coming out.

Did you see your doctor when you experienced the miscarriage? If you did, and you needed one, he (or she) would've brought it up.

If you are having problems, make an appointment with your GYN and have a check-up. You can't be too safe!

The dr's didn't check you out?? I would ask a dr. you wouldn't want to get any infection for anything that could be left. Hope all works out for you had 3 myself and a stillborn, didn't think I could have kids of my own till I finally had my oldest. Good Luck hun...

I wouldn't think you would need one after that long. If you are still bleeding irregularly then you need to let your dr. know. You could have a saline u/s to make sure everything is gone.

Sorry for your loss... mine was in April. It's so hard!

If your dr. didn't say you needed one then you don't need one. I miscarried in '03 and my body cleared it all out by itself. Chances are- your body has already cleaned itself out if you miscarried 4 mos ago.
