Currently 41 degrees in the high desert of Reno, NV.
It is getting soooo cold at night!!! The days are still very sunny and beautiful. Yesterday we were at 72 degrees, today only 59!!! the rest of the week is *supposed* to be high 60s, lows of 30! it's gonna start snowing soon. I love it, it is beautiful... but girl, it's not so easy to drive in!

It's crazy weather all year long... People hardly get colds here because we get used to all the weather changes since birth. Some Christamases are temperatures below zero... and others you can wear a T-shirt to Grandma's...

I was born in Phoenix (miserably hot with no winter), and grew up in southern California (miserably hot and miserably smoggy with no winter and about 12 minutes of spring)....
but Missouri? we have a change of seasons! It's magnificent! Today, the autumn leaves are in full color .. landscapes are painted with hues of amber and copper and red and gold...a chilly rain brought out all the emerald greens...
With any kind of luck, it will snow by Halloween (it usually does) and the grandkids and I will have snowball fights.
.......on a side note .... autumn in the country beats the dickens out of dodging palm fronds that come sailing out of the sky like bombs, from SoCal's 100 foot palm trees! If you think about it .. those palms provide no shade...can't hang a hammock from 'em...birds can't really nest in them...can't hang a swing from them ... can't climb them without risking life and limb ... can't build tree houses or even hang a bird house in 'em ...and they don't change with glorious colors in autumn... they're not trees, they're weeds!

I live in Oregon, and it's just now getting cold enough to see your breath. It does snow in oregon a lot, but I'm at a pretty low elevation.
Snow is fun until you have to take the bus to work/school.
