Oviparous, meaning any animal that lays eggs that hatch outside the mother like birds and crocodiles. Viviparous is like a person where the baby is nourished by the mothers body. Ovoviviparous is an egg that is inside the mother and the baby is nourished by the egg but the mother still gives live birth.

Well, that depends on the definition of "newt". Strictly speaking, newts are some species of Urodeles that belong to family Salamandridae.
Within this family there are viviparous species, but most are oviparous.

If you're talking about Urodeles in general, there are oviparous, ovoviviparous and viviparous forms.

Newts are oviparous (egg-laying), not ovoviviparous (eggs kept inside the mother until they hatch); rattlesnakes are ovoviviparous.
