I have had one cone biopsy done which ws done in april, and i concieved in the beginning of june. I have read horror stories of people miscarrying during their fifth month due to an incompetent cervix which can be caused by a number of things one of which is a cone biopsy, and some people jsut have weak cervixes apparently. The scary thing about this is there is no symptoms of the loss, the cervix will just painlessly open. My dr seems to think we would have already seen problems and said that he has performed many biopsoes on women who go on to have babies. I have had very healthy pregnancy otherwise but i am half way through my fifth month and i cant help but worry. Am I being crazy? Should I trust my dr? He doesnt check my cervix at appts but i really would like him to make sure it is closed. Is there any way to check my cervix myself?

The doctor should check your cervix if there is a reason for concern. They can sew the cervix shut if there is a problem. This will keep it closed until the right time.
I would suggest you speak to your doctor and ask him why he is not checking it and why he is not concerned. If you are not comfortable with his answers you should get a second opinion. This is your body and your baby, take control of the situation.
Do not try to check it yourself. You could cause issues.

you are almost five months so at your next check up be sure to bring up your questions, there is a thing that can be done to prevent a m/c when you have an incompetent cervix. they will stitch your cervix and place you on bed rest for a period of time depending on how dilated you were to begin with. its a very small procedure and relatively painless i believe its called "Cerclage"
good luck
