ZIP is short for Zonal Improvement Program for the District of Columbia .
Since India is not a part or territory of the District of Columbia there is none.

I think this question has been asked before also. There is no zip code system in India. We follow Pin code system, & countries do not have zip or pin codes, its cities, towns & villages of that country have it for easier identification.

zip code is postal indexing system of USA. India we are having postal indexing system called PIN CODE for India. In all Email & Internet pupose we can use PIN CODE as zipcode.
India Pincode is having six digit code. The first digit for Zone, 2nd &3rd digit for state &district. Last three digit indicate the location. full details you can get from department of post, india website indicated below.
