What is Passive Voice?

When I use word and use the check spelling and all that, passive voice (consider revising)comes up a lot.. What exactly is this.. thanks

Here is an example. This will be achieved once someone

The part that says will be achieved is highlight and it says it is a passive voice.. How can I fix it so it is not passive?

Passive voice conveys that the subject of the sentence is on the receiving end of the action that the verb implies, as opposed to active voice, in which the subject of the sentence performs the action.

Example:
active voice: I sent a message to you
passive voice: A message was sent to you by me

In passive voice the actor is not the subject of the sentence.

An example. Instead of saying "I kicked the dog," you way "the dog was kicked by me."

Passive voice is useful when you want to vary your pattern, but generally the active voice is preferred.

passive voice is: The computer will perform the computations
OR The computations are performed by the computer.

active voice is: The computer performs the computations

A good way to spot passive voice is to look for would or will in your sentences, though it sounds like spell check is finding the sentences for you. :).

When the speaker or subject does something on an object it is called active voice.for example: Mary reads a book.I play football,He is driving a car ,I love my parents, john does not know grammar etc etc. are all sentences in active voice.but when the object is converted into subject and it comes generally at the beginning of the sentence and the original subject goes at the end "by" preceeding it,it is passive voice.kFor example : A book is read by Mary, Football is played by me, my parents are loved by me, A car is being driven by him, Grammar is not known by john etc.
