How long did it take you to conceive? I've searched thru the archived questions, but found nothing about hormonal IUD's (like Mirena)... Having mine removed on Nov 16, the day after my period is due to start, and hoping to conceive w/in 2 cycles. I conceived after only one cycle w/ my first pregnancy, and I had just gone off the pill, so my plan is not unrealistic...

Your fertility returns to normal right after having your Mirena removed. At that point, it just depends on the natural factors like your timing, his sperm count, etc.

I did extensive research into Mirena because I wanted something very safe and effective that would not hurt my fertility so I could try conceive again as soon as we were ready.

About 91% of women who are not using any form of contraceptive conceive within a year.

Fertility resumes immediately. Personally I would wait 2 cycles before attempting to conceive BC the IUD gets ribbed out of your uterus and may cause some minor scratches in your uterus I would give my body 2 months to heal but that's my personal opinion. The rate for pregnancy after an IUD is 80% within the 1st year of removal and a lot of things have to be taken in considerations like age, sperm count, eating habits, weight etc.

I would recommend taking an ibuprofen 40 Min's before your scheduled removal and prepare at least 3 weeks in advance with evening prime rose oil caplets you take 1 orally for 1 week the next week you take 1 orally and 1 vaginally and the last week you do 2 and 2 this helps soften your cervix and makes removal easier

I never used an iud but i have a friend who got pregnant right away after it was removed, and another friend of mine actually got pregnant while it was still in. I think you should be fine and concieve! Good luck ;)
