For me here's what I see when people talk about me:
they don't have their own matters (they have no life of their own) to talk about, so they use mind to find something to talk about & don't seem too dull.
So, I'd like to hear YOUR point of view!
Thank You.

Yes I find rumours annoying & I hate people talking behind my back. It's so passive aggressive! I'd rather people say it to my face if they have a problem with me, but many people are too cowardly to be that direct.

You are absolutely right about them having no lives of their own so they have to focus on those that actually have a life! It's often out of jealousy. People envy you so they try to tear you down. Don't let it get to you. Think of it as a compliment! You're interesting enough for people to talk about. Look at celebrities, they're admired & vilified. Their lives obsessed about & exploited in tabloids because people are fascinated by them. Their lives become entertainment for those trapped in their own mundane, eventless existence.

Let the idiots say what they will. You know who you are. Enjoy yourself. Don't stoop to their level!

Cheers!

Rumors are the worst because they can get all twisted around and most of the time they are not even true. People just cant mind their own business. I could careless if people talk behind my back. If that is what makes them happy and that is all they can do to waste time the more power to them. Do not let other people get in the ways of you dreams.

Well, I look at it this way. When people talk about others, they can't "possibly" like themselves. If they "did," talking behind other peoples back wouldn't even enter their minds. It doesn't do anything to make the "talker" look good. And when someone talks to me about someone else, it just makes me wonder if this person talks behind "my" back? So consequently, although I "know" a lot of people, a lot of people don't know "me." As a friend, that is. Why would I pick a friend like that? I wouldn't. And if you just let people talk, listen to "what" they are saying, and you'll know who to sift out "as" a friend or not.

Put to the test humans can be the cruelest species on this planet.Without thought, they will pick on a newcomer, or racially discriminate, just for lack of something to do constructive with their brain. It used to bother me for I am human and I used to cry as a child when the so-called friends were sniveling behind my back and spewing out notes of hatred and ridicule. However I grew wise, and I now know those people are pathetic without feelings and are destroying themselves for whatever creative talents they may have or have had are wasted and that started me to think that it was more important for me to succeed in my life for my goals and ignore them for they were jealous and insecure and by me being upset just suited their fancy to give them fuel for their fires. So oneday I finally had a revelation I saw they needed to be in a group because it took all of them to make up one brain and one silly thought. ha ha . Also no ones mom and dad had their children to be abused by anyone. Ignore them and dont help them or hurt them they are invisible.Users, Abusers, and Losers. If you dwell on them you will be sucked into their game even if they eventually accept you they only want to bring you to their level (gutter) You dont need their acceptance ever. Get better acquaintances and make real supportive friends.

We need to be honest with ourselves here. Are you to say YOU have never talked about others behind their backs? Maybe you dont notice when you do, but you do, we all do. So maybe instead of feeling hurt when you hear of someone doing it to you, you should just expect it and chalk it up to being human. Accept it. And to answer your question, yes, a little bit it does bother me. Im workin at it.

It seems to be an annoying part of human nature to talk about people behind their backs. I think the most important thing is to have a very strong sense of yourself: to build your self-esteem and always do and say the things that are right according to you. This way when people talk about you, you know that's it's THEIR problem - not yours.

I agree that it's irritating, but it doesn't have much power when you know firmly who you are.

Rumors doesn't bother me that much, if I know what's the real situation and facts, I couldn't care less what other people think or say about me. What really bothers me, when people lie to me right in front of my face.

You're right. Talk- it's what alot of people who don't have lives, do. You can get upset by it- or you can ignore it...-How you react is your choice. I prefer to LISTEN... -There's LOTS of interesting info floating around out there- if you listen CLOSELY... And the more you KNOW, the more you will be on top of what's going down...

Yes it does bother most of us. No one likes people talking bad about them behind their backs. But consider if these people have nothing better to do except badmouth us BEHIND OUR BACKS, they probably envy a little of what we are. So don't worry about them, if you are not hurting anyone else. Keep doing what your doing, it makes for good conversation!

Yes and no.

It doesn't bother me when people talk behind my back. I really don't care what idiots think.

Then again, it's scary to realize that I'm surrounded by idiots.
