It really makes me sad, and closes a walk that will never re-open. When you had to save points to be able to afford silverware, when as a kid I waited to save up points, and waited for the mailman to deliver one little place setting, to save for another.

Sigh. Why do all the good places close? Boo Hoo. :(

I hope I am doing this right. I am trying to add info to answer your questions. Yes, they are closing their catalog doors on Dec. 15. Boo Hoo. I bought my daughter the Brahms silverware for a wedding present, and then my hubby bought me a set of Paramount for our anniversary.

I am SAD about it. I remember when I was very little, looking through those tiny little catalogs that came in the mail. :(

It is like having a memory close...

You can still order something at bettycrocker.com!

I just wanted the memories!

:) Good night all.

p.s. Yes, they will still sell cake mixes and 'stuff'.

Only the Betty Crocker catalog is going out of business. Not General MIlls

Betty Crocker, an invented persona and mascot, is a brand name and trademark of American food company General Mills. The name was first developed by the Washburn Crosby Company in 1921 as a way to give a personalized response to consumer product questions.
Company executives chose the name "Betty" because it seemed warm and friendly to them. The surname "Crocker" was borrowed from retired executive William H. Crocker. At first "Betty Crocker" was used to provide the simulation of a personal signature to replies to customers asking advice.

From Old School, Betty Crocker catalog is going out of business because they were over priced. Granted they had some quality merchandise to buy with your points. There's more selection for quality now in a open market/shop around.

Yes the Betty Crocker Catalog is going out of business. You have until December 15 to redeem your coupons.

Maybe the parent company has been bought out by another corporation, but Betty Crocker going out of business, I don't believe it!

Yes, I believe the points program could be ending, but not the company.

The points weren't worth anything..if you sent in 50 cents for a catalog, then they sent you hundred(s) of points.
