You didnt give enough info- did they find a lump in your breast or in your armpit or both? An MRI of where, your Brain? Dont want to scare you but breast cancer isn't always the primary site meaning, you could have cancer elsewhere which is the primary site, and he also may be looking for any other areas that may be affected. Call your doc in the AM. Make him give you a straight answer to this question, you have a legal right to know what he is doing and why and make him explain it in words that you will understand. Also ask him if he finds other sites, what is his game plan- chemo? radiation? surgery and the other two? Call him!!!! Good luck and bless you.

I asked myself this question a little over a year ago. I had a dimple appear in my breast that was not there before. I went to my doctor, then a surgeon, then a mammogram, then ultrasound, then MRI. Afterwards they told me that there was literally nothing there to biopsy.
Advances in MRI techniques have made it possible to determine if a suspicious area in your breast needs to be biopsied. This will also give them a better "map" of where to go if they do determine that you need a biopsy. I am personally very thankful that they were able to determine this was just "aging" without having to cut me open.
MRI is non-invasive and just a new step in the process. Hang in there. You can even contact your local Susan G Coleman Breast Cancer Foundation for more information regarding the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. The women and men who are part of this group are mostly survivors themselves and can help you in ways you could not imagine.

A breast biopsy is quite invasive and may cause some pain but an MRI can also detect what your doctor is suspecting and is non-invasive. Maybe your doctor just opted for the less invasive procedure.
Good day!

you're no longer a hypochondriac. If something is faulty, your physique will inform you. i might propose contacting the well-being care expert's workplace to get greater tips as to why your breast is bruising and good. If the needle went by your nipple, that could clarify the soreness, yet otherwise, probable no longer. I certainly have not at all had an MRI guided biopsy of any sort, yet I certainly have had biopsies previously and don't bear in mind nonetheless having this severe of indications this previous due interior the sport. in case your well-being care expert would not initiate offering solutions, i might flow to the ER or an pressing Care to have it checked. Your physique creates soreness to tell you something is faulty. you're able to desire to take heed to it.

The MRI gets a closer look at the problem area. The Doctor has probably ordered the MRI so that he can treat and take the appropriate action.

My guess is that it would help him to be more sure of what he's seeing before he does something as invasive and potentially painful as a biopsy.
