I'm interested in buying it.. but I've only owned keyboards with built in speakears. I've heard of keyboard amps. Is that what I'd need?

On the cheap.

open the piano up cut the wires to the tiny speakers. Splice them to a wire with an RCA jack at the other end. Make sure the volume control is way down on the piano and plug into the AUX recepticles of a stereo with some decent speaker--bought cheap from Good Will or a flea market.

If your piano has a line out jack ( it should be a 1/4" plug-in ), then yes a keyboard amp is what you'll need, if you're playing solo. If you're planning on playing with buddies, get a P.A. system (amp and speakers), that way you can plug in guitars, mics, etc.
I have miked a piano before into a P.A. , as pianos don't have a line out of course. When you say stage piano, I'm assuming you will have a line out. I've got a Fender Rhodes Mark 3 stage piano from 1973, and it has a line out.
