Any 2-digit number is really 10a + b (e.g. 97 is 10*9 + 7). So ... the instructions result in the following: 10a + b - (a + b). Simplifying this algebraically, we get 9a. This means that no matter what 2-digit number you select, it will ALWAYS be a multiple of 9. So ... the web page puts the same exact character at every multiple of 9. Therefore, it will put a square at 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, etc. It also makes sure that each time you try, it just changes the character it will put at each multiple of 9 (but, again, the same exact character for that 'try' will be at each multiple of 9 and, therefore, it knows exactly what the character will always be).

If you start from 99 it means 9+9 =18,,,,,, 99-18=81
if you start from 98 it means 9+8 =17,,,,,, 98-17=81

this way, all the numbers give you only a set of numbers. So following the steps of every 10 numbers leads you to only 1 number. The symbol of that 1 number is the one that is shown to you.

Now, if you consider 79 it will lead you to a different number but the symbol of that number will also be the same as the one that you are lead to by the 90s.

and then it is the same for 60s and 50s etc.

Let x and y be the two digits. Then the two-digit number is 10x + y. When you add the two digits and subtract the sum from the number, you get 10x + y - (x+y) = 9x. Therefore, it's a multiple of 9.

Notice that every multiple of 9 has the same symbol associated with it, though the symbol may change between mind-reads. So no matter what number you choose, it will always display the "correct" symbol.

its easy, lets sya u pick 50. the answer would be 45 after you do the adding and subtracting. Ltes say u choose 60. The answer is 54. Lets say u choose 10, the answer is 9. Well if u look up 45, 54, and 9 u see that they have the same sign. They do this WITH EVERY SINGLE NUMBER. and so they have the pattern. No matter which numb u choose, u will get the same symbol. try it, experiment with four diff ones and u'll see they have the same symbol.

It's just math

A number can be represented by the digits x and y, the number being 10x + y

10x + y - x - y is equal to

9x. All the symbols that are multiples of 9 (9,18,27,36,etc) have the same symbol.

notice that all the multiples of 9 up to 90 have the same symbol. That's all you need to know.
